FashionPlain → Styled

Plain → styled.

Turn a basic look into an interactive styling reveal.

Styling, drawn on in chalk

The same figure photographed twice: once in the plain garment, once styled. Draw the tailor’s chalk across the frame and the styled version appears along the line — the layering, the accessories, the way the fabric falls once it has been worked. The plain version stays everywhere the chalk has not been, so the visitor can leave half the look undone and compare the two down a single edge.

A finger draws the same line on a phone, and a visitor who has asked for reduced motion gets the two states as a comparison they drag themselves.

Who it is for

Fashion brands and lookbooks, stylists and personal shopping services, tailoring and alterations, rental and resale platforms — anywhere the product is not the garment on its own but the judgment applied to it.

What it replaces

The lookbook grid, where every frame is already styled and the visitor never sees what the styling was for. Showing the plain starting point in the same frame is what makes the work legible: the difference is the service, and a grid of finished looks hides exactly that.

It is built as a single section and drops into the site that already exists, in front of the catalog rather than instead of it.
